Elegant Halloween

Hello there!
Happy Halloween's Eve!
I feel I have already done many Halloween designs, the spooky night, the monster nails, zombie nails....this year I wanted something more sofisticated but still uncanny.

For this nail art I have decided to use this Born Pretty Store stamping plate. It is plate Texure L001 id code #46961 . It is a plate that is compltetely dedicated to marble designs. It is perfect to create an iper realistic marble veins desegn, or even opal or rose quartz or turquoise effect.

On the bottom part it has different marble pattern, in negative and positive so you can stamp on dark and light colours, it has also a design that mimic the water marble effect, so cool right?
On the top half it has a larger portion with singular marble veins and cracked lines, I think this part is meant to layered with different colours or colours with different opacity and pigmentation. Some marble veins are sheer and translucent.

In the mood for  Halloween I used this wanderful marble plate to give the idea of veins and vessels.
I manly used the top part. I stamped over a clear fake nails with a pigmented red colour.
The I covered the entire nails with a glossy soak off top coat, then I painted the half of the nail with a dark red soak off polish from Mandam Glam, Queen of hearts. Then I secured the design with another layer of no wipe top coat.

Freehand abstract nail art with striping brush from Born Pretty Store

Hello!
as promised another nail art and another review for Born Pretty Store .

I decided to try again a different striping brush with a dual ended dotting tool: 2 Way Plastic Dotting & Liner Brush Pen  id # 8790  . This time a did a more simpler a free hand design. I decided to use this brush with nail polishes to see how it worked.

The structure of the pencil is very simple and sturdy, it is in white plastic with blue details. The striping brush is a bit more thick that the one I used in this post, that's why I decided to use it with nail varnish.

The bush bristles look very flexible and durable, after the nail art I cleaned it with nail polish remover and water, it came back exactly as before.

The company was kind enough to offer a 10% discount to my readers. Just use promo code RASX31  during checkout. Shipping is free on all orders as well!

On the other end the pencil has a medium sized dotting tool, so I thought it would be a good idea to use them combined and see if I can create a nail art.

I started with a matte black base then a randomly added some lines across the nails. The trick is to dip the brush once in the polish and move rapidly onto the nail.
I used a glittery duo chorme from an old limited collection from Kiko, it shift form iridescent blue to purple. It gives the lines a nice shading, Then I added to dots with a dotting tool, I used a Born Pretty Store nail polish that I really love: it is called Only you and it is from the Transparent Shell Glimmer collection you can find it here .

It is a delicate purple with a delicate yellow duochrome: Only you.
The most interesting thing about these polishes is that they give different effect on different colours on black it looks like and iridescent purple/pink.

Steam punk nails!

According to wikipedia Steampunk fashion is a subgenre of the steampunk movement in science fiction. It is a mixture of the Victorian era's romantic view of science in literature and the industrialization in most parts of Europe. The aesthetics of the fashion are designed with a post-apocalyptic era in mind. The costumes included clothing, hairstyling, jewellery, body modification and make-up. Steampunk fashion has later gone on to include gadgets and contrasting accoutrements.

Initially, the clothes such as bustiers, bodices', jackets and other items were mostly handmade and customized, but as the steampunk movement grew, entrepreneurs and companies became interested and started to mass-produce steampunk clothing to be sold both online and in stores.

Now steampunk fashion is becoming main stream now and nail art industry is offering many tool and products related to this trend.

I really wanted to try some nails inspired to the steam punk trend but I never found the right product for it. The free hand drawing option looked too difficult for me.
I was recently contacted by the company Big Bang Beauty and in their store I found this set of stickers
The sheets has many stickers in different sizes and styles, they all look like clock pieces, or others hardware and machinery parts.

                                                                      SKU: J2102-3C

If you want to give this product a try don't forget to use my coupon code LAURA for 10% off your order on www.beautybigbang.com

For this nail art I left half of the nail clear and on the other half I did a marble pattern with a black and a bronze shade. Then I applied the stickers between the clear part and the design to make them more visible.
I was really amazed by the quality of these stickers, the designs are very detailed and the glue is very strong so they stick to the nail very well. They don't make air bubble or stains. They measure approximately 4mm 6mm and 8mm in diameter so they are suitable for long or short nails.
You can use some tweesers to take them off the sheet and apply on the nails
I added some 3d mini steam punk nail art decoration, I think they would go well with the sitcker and create a tridimentional effect.
I sealed the designs with 2 coats of clear glossy polish.

Elephant rings set form To Save

Hello there!
How are you!?

Hands are quite a focal point in my pictures, as you can imagine, my hands are constantly in frame so I am alwyas trying new jewelry to make pictures more interested and stylish. Hands are very suitable for adornment  and since I am italian I really use them when I speak.
I praticularly like midi rings, rings to wear on your knuckles.
Today I am super excited to show you this new set of rings from the online store www.tosave.com

These nails are also from the online shop To Save and I have decorated them with some stickers. You can find them both a these links:

flower stickers: http://www.tosave.com/p/Flower-Black-Ink-Painting-Adhesive-3D-Nail-Art-Stickers-DIY-Manicure-Decals-183927.html

You can find the nail art tutorial in this post.

It was really hard to choose; on their shop this company has a large variety of accessories, from ring set to body jewelry and even bridal head pieces. Prices are very affordable and quality is good.

This midi ring set can be worn stacked or all on its own
I really like this set rings so much definitely worth the money as it comes 10 pieces in a set, had 10 different cute designs, loves the color tone it can be mix and match, comes with different sizes on every design. You can change everyday different rings depending on what you are wearing. The fact that they are so dalicate allows you to easily wear them with other pieces of jewelry such as a thin necklace for a more feminine look or stack them with all kinds of other rings for a bolder look.

I really love the vintange boho vibe this set has!

I like them all but my favourites are ones with the flower and the white pearl because that looks like a clear opal. I think the one with the elephant head is very nice too, Elephants in Asia are symbolizing a kind of divinity and benevolence but also good luck. All designs are cut very well and they are very comfortable to wear.  The rings sizes vary from midi to regular size, so you can just just switch them around to fit your fingers!

Black and white flowers nailart!

 Hello!
It's time for another nail art related review and today
For this nail art I used some products for the online shop To Save. They kindly sent me some product to review and show you!
In the last post I have reviewed a set of 600 false stiletto nails. I did not resist to try them with these wonderful black flower nail stickers.
In this blog post I'll also do a mini-tutorial for how I apply them.

I was captured by this design at first sight! It is all black and white and the flowers look like a sheer and delicate watercolour painting. I think that this design is very elegant and delicate.

The sheet is 12 cm for 7.5 cm and the designs are in different sizes so that they can fit longer or shorter nails. You can do more than 3 complete nailart with these.
These stickers are very thin but strong at the same time. These kind of nail tools are even better than water decals because thir use is faster. These nail stickers can be applied directly onto the nail without having to dip them in the water like with the water decals.

These stickers are very easy to use. Since I am working on false nails I don't need a base but if you are working on natural nails you would prefer applying them on a well dried base colour.
You can use your nails or a pair of tweesers to remove the design for the sheet and apply it directly on your nails.
You have to be very careful when you apply the sticker because it might leave some air bubble.
To make sure the nail art will last long you have to apply a top coat. In this case I applied a matte top coat. I think the matte gives this nail art a modern touch!
Then I added some rose gold and pink paillettes because I wanted to give the idea of some flower pollen flying in the air.

Here is a small video tutorial:

Set of white stiletto nails! Review

Hello there,
this blog post is addressed to all of those people who tried many thing buy never succeded in having their nails on point! If you tried gel nails, shellac, acrylic nails and you nails got ruined or cracked and breaked anyway, you should consider trying press on nails.

I know many of you would turn their nose up but things have changed.
If you are a 90s kid like me you probably remember the first branded press on nails on the market, they were tragic and not so easy to wear, not natural looking at all.
False nails have come such a long way and they became the perfect compromise between beautiful and comfortable.

I have received some products to review from the online shop ToSave www.tosave.com .
I really wanted to try these white pointy nails. They came in a bag that contains 600 nails in 10 different sizes from 0 to 9. Nails are divided by sizes and you will have extra nails in size 4 and 5 because I think they are the most common sizes.

You can even choose a colour:
 - transparent if you like to paint them with sheer nail polish or want to try a french manicure or french nailart.
- natural a sheer, milky white beige, the perfect base for light or nude colours
- white if you need a base for nail art or want a fast and easy nails-to-go

I picked white of course!
The size range is very large the larger nail is 2,5 cm long and 1,4 cm wide, the smallest is 0,7 cm wide.

The shape is the classic stiletto, hte point is not as sharp as some other nails and I think it makes them more elegant and easy to wear. You might need a bit of filing to even the point or the edges but they are ready to wear.
You can apply them with some nail glue or nail tabs if you want to reuse the nails.

How to apply?
-Remove any nail polish. Clean and dry your natural nails.
-Find perfect size for each finger. File sides if too large or long.
-Apply a thin layer of nail glue to the underside of the nail tip.
-Apply the nail near your cuticle and hold in place for a few seconds.

They are quite sturdy and a bit flexible on the base so the can adjust to the natural curve of your nail beds.
You can also change the shape easily by cutting and filing. From this stiletto shape you can do a coffin/ballerina shape in just two steps (I will show you in another blogpost) or do an oval or square shape.

Here is how they look on hands. Amazing right?

If you don't like wearing false nails or you are so lucky that you don't need to you can still consider buying a set of these nails to use to practice nail art or swatch colours without stressing your natural nails. The set is really cheap!

If you like these nails stay tuned because I am going to post some nail art and nail art tutorial using these as base!

Comics/ pop art nail art!

Hello!

This month I have a special nail mail full of goodies offered by the bornprettystore.com online shop.
The company was so kind to send me some products to to try and show you.

The first item I want to talk about is this beautiful plate inspired by comics and pop art.

                                               Image Plate BPL-62

The plate shows juxtaposed sequences of panels of images and also some text in speech ballons or caption.
The comics book culture is gaining more and more fans and it became a manicure trend featuring different techniques and methods.

The best thing about this trend is that you can make your nails look like the pages of a comics book and play with your imagination to create your unique story.
Moreover with this stamping plate it is super easy!
You can go for a simple style and stamp with a black nail polish over a white matt base like I did on these stiletto nails.

You can use my coupon code at check out to get 10% off RASX31 on www.bornprettystore.com

The stainless steel plate measures 6,5 x 12,5 cm and includes various designs in different sizes.
Each Born Pretty Store plate comes in its own paper sleeve and has a white vinyl backing for protection.
The designs are engraved very well and the image is tranfered on the stamper with no problem.

Please stay tuned for the colored version on oval nails! Coming soon!

Lot of love

Laura
