Pong geometric nail art!

Hello!
Do you remeber pong? If not.... Gosh you are really young!
Pong is one of the earliest arcade video games. It is a table tennis sports game featuring simple two-dimensional graphics. The game was originally manufactured by Atari.
This what the it looked like basically:

Well that's what this nail art reminds me of, except for the dark burgundy mauve background. of course!

How to achieve this result!?
It is really simple, I used some nail sticker from Born Pretty Store.

It is a full sheet of nail stickers. It measures 12.5cm X 6.7cm. The sheet has 4 different designs: some squares, some diamond like shape, some small circle and the little stripes I used in this nail art.

                                                                            stripes

                                                            small circle shapes

There are 6 colours to choose from,1 holographic. I picked the colour number #4. The effect is very similar to the iridescent paper foil used for laser or shattered glass nail art. Is has different shades on different base colours. I used a matte top coat, I think it gives a nice high tech look to the whole manicure.

You can apply the sticker over a dry nail colour base.
You can use your nails or a pair of tweesers to remove the design for the sheet and apply it directly on your nails.

You can press a bit with your fingers to smooth the sticker surface and get rid of any air bubble.
Finally you can use a top coat for a long lasting result.

You can also apply a larger portion of stickers and peel it off with tweesers.

A great idea is to save the ramaining sticker and use it as decal, filling the gaps with a pigmented nail polish.

Secret garden nail art!Born Pretty Store Thermal polish!

A thermal nail polish is a varnish that is going to change its colour depending on the temperature of the environment.
The colour that I have chosen is number 025 a brigh pink/coral in cold environment and a very light  white in hot temperature.
The consistency is a bit thicker than the normal polishes I am used to and the finish is very interesting too because is not completely matte, but not shiny more like a gummy finish.

You can buy it at this link:
http://www.bornprettystore.com/born-pretty-mood-color-changing-nail-polish-thermal-nail-lacquer-varnish-colors-p-40479.html

I was very curious to try some colour changing polish because you can have two different styles in a moment, your nail polish will change throught out the day a lot of times and most of the time it will create an ombrèe effect between the two colours. It is a fast nail look on its own but I decided I wanted to play a little bit with it.

I wanted to create a secret garden nail art. It is secret because when your hands are cold it looks like a nornal pink/coral nail polish but when your nails are warm the nail polish turns light pink(white) and it reveals the floral design.

Here is a video showing the colour changing effect! Can you spot the reflection of the air dryer I used to warm my hands??? :-D

I started with a clear base then I painted all nails in a white plain shade. Then I painted two coats of thermal pink/coral nail polish. I let it dry completely and I stamped over with a very similar shade.
Since the shade is not exactly the same and the finishes are different (gummy/matte for the thermal polish and glossy for the normal polish) and my body temperature is always quite high, you are still able to see a bit of the design on cold temperature too but it is still a nice surprise; when all nails are warm, the difference is stunning!

Dream catch me nail art! Born Pretty Store dream catcher stamping plate and triangle sequins

Hello!
Today is another nail art day!
Recently I have received some new products for the Born Pretty Store .

Dream catcher nail has been really on trend this year, many tried a free hand drawings and some companies made some stamping plates inspired buy this object and his symbolic use.

A dreamcatcher  is a handmade willow hoop, on which is woven a net or a web. The dreamcatcher may also include sacred items such as certain feathers or beads. Traditionally they are often hung over cradles as protection. It also know as the "spider web charm". Today the dreamcatcher is associated with Native American culture.

I really felt in love with this plate from Born Pretty Store, it shows a big dream catcher at the center and other two on the left and on the right. The remaining space is filled with designs such as feathers cristals and arrows.

You can buy at this link for 2.99 usd.

You can use my coupon code at check out to get 10% off RASX31 on www.bornprettystore.com

The plate comes in a nice paper sleeve and has a blue protective film that needs to be removed before use.
The design is really well engraved and every stamper that I have picks the image very well with no problem.

For this nail art I used a black matte polish as background than I added some purple, light blue and pink creating a smoke or marble effect on three nails and an entire nail on the index.
I stamped with some gold over the black nails and with some black polish over the marble blue/purple index.

On the ring finger I decided to do something different, I applied these wonderful trialgle sequing in two shades: chrome purple and chrome gold.

It is very easy to apply them with a dotting tool over a wet nail polish.

These sequins are part of a collection of 6 colours, all wonderful! There is also another shape available (rhombus). Click this link if you want to have a look at it:

I really hope you like this nail art!
See you soon!

Bokeh effect nails

In photography, bokeh is the aesthetic quality of the blur produced in the out-of-focus parts of an image produced by a lens. Bokeh has been defined as "the way the lens renders out-of-focus points of light".

The term comes from the Japanese word boke (暈け or ボケ), which means "blur" or "haze", or boke-aji (ボケ味), the "blur quality". The Japanese term boke is also used in the sense of a mental haze or senility.[8] The term bokashi (暈かし) is related, meaning intentional blurring or gradation.

This an exaple of bokeh effect in a photo

This are the pictures I took inspiration from for this nail art!

To recreate this effect I only used two brand new products from Born Pretty Store.

https://www.bornprettystore.com/born-pretty-holographic-silver-nail-flakies-round-nail-sequins-glitter-paillette-p-39819.html

Here is a small video that I have filmed to show you the entire process:

I started placing the holographic round sequins first.

The jar contains 3 sizes of rounded sequins 3 mm, 2 mm and 1 mm. The shade is very particular between a silver and a holographic effect. The reson why I started with these sequins is because they are more light and reflective so they will give brightness to the bokeh effect.

Then I added these second kind of sequins.

This second kind of sequins is made with a translucent foil (I think the one used for laser or broken glass nail art). There are 3 sizes mixed: 3mm in a green shade, 2 mm in a red shade and 1 mm in a blue purple shade.

These last item is the trick to give the nail art a realistic bokeh effect.
I place all the sequins  on wet black nail polish with a dotting tool. I try to concentrate the bigger one on the center and smaller and disperse  toward the cuticles and tips of the nails. You don't have to be too precise, if some of the dots overlap a bit is even better.

There are also others shapes avaible such as flowers, stars, hexagon, hearts, butterflies, squares.

Maybe next time I will try to recreate one of these effects:
