Matte No wipe Top coat from Born Pretty

Matte nails have been trendy for some years right now and I am never tired of them.

If you want your nails to be matte, you have two options:

The first is to buy special matte nail polish., your other, more economic option is to buy a matte top coat. There are many matte polish for normal polishes but a fewer options for gels.
Here it is  a vary good matte top coat for soak off gels form www.bornprettygel.com

I think the best one out there for the price, Unlike other formulas, this one completely mattifies polish without changing its color. It looks very opaque and it is velvet at the touch, almost gummy like and the effect lasts long.

In the bottle is looks a little bit more opaque than normal clear top coat but this is totally normal.

It is very easy to apply and the formula is not too thick or too liquid, it does not drag the colour underneath.

I used it over this Egg shell special polish and it gives the perfect effect for this nail art.

You can cure under the lamp (time depending on your specific lamp) and it is no wipe, perfect for a top coat.

Vanitas on nails!

This stamping plate with skulls, skeletons and flowers reminds me of the Vanitas: a genre of still life painting that flourished in the Netherlands in the early 17th century. It included various symbolic objects designed to remind the viewer of their mortality and the worthlessness of wordly goods and pleasures.

A vanitas painting, while possibly containing lovely objects, always included some reference to man's mortality. Most often, this is a human skull (with or without other bones), but items like burning candles, soap bubbles and decaying flowers may be used for this purpose as well.

You can find these at @bornprettystore @bornprettyofficial www.bornprettystore.com

I love the fact that the plate offers so many combinations, there are full pattern to paint on the entire nail and some smaller elements such as geometric figures.

The polish used as base is the holo:

Tarot nails!!! Make your own Tarot with a stamping plate

You can create your own tarot with a stamping plate!!! Did you know that!?

I have always been facinated by the art of Tarot even thought I am quite pragmatic girl who only believes what she sees.

The tarot (/ˈtæroʊ/, first known as trionfi and later as tarocchi or tarock) is a pack of playing cards, used from the mid-15th century in various parts of Europe to play games such as Italian tarocchini, French tarot and Austrian Königrufen, many of which are still played today. In the late 18th century, some tarot decks began to be used for divination via tarot card reading and cartomancy.  I know that they are used to read the future and give indications to the person asking some questions.

I would love to know more about this art but....I don't so I will keep the post just because if the aesthetic facinations that I have for Tarot. Some cards are simply beautiful and whimstical, they give a boho and dark vibe which I love.

Let's talk about the plate now!

The stamping plate I used in this nailart from Nicole Diary 162 and you can find it at @bornprettystore @bornprettystoreofficial www.bornprettystore.com

You can find it at this link

What  I love about this plate is that you can mix and match many different elements and create your own Tarot cart and stamp it on your nails. On the bottom side of the plate there is a set of card's outline and in the center parts some elements that you can place in the center of the cars.

On both sides of the stampint plates there are some full lenght designs of varius elements. I think this plate is so perfect for Halloween and wicked manis.

Cherry blosson and red bird nail art!

Hello there!
Today I am going to review some water decals from Born Pretty Store.

The company was very kind to let me select some products to try. I really love water decals because they are very easy and fast to use and e result is stunning. You will easily get compliments for your nails from everybody who notice them.

This time I've chosen an elegant oriental and vibrant design.
You can find it here .
There are many others patterns available, I am sure you will find a pattern you like.

If you decide to give this product a try please don't forget to use my coupon code, it will give you another 10% off:    RASX31 on www.bornprettystore.com

The application is very easy.
The waterdecals are protected by a transparent sheet. You can select the size and the design you want, cut it with a scissor. Don't forget to remove the plastic sheet. Cut out the section of decals, and let it soak in room temperature water for about 20-30 seconds, slide the decals off the paper backing with tweezers and place on the nails with the white or nude base coat
The instructions suggest to place it on  the nail and blow dry. The last step is to secure it with clear nail polish. In my case with a matte top coat.

The pattern is number 1594. I think it is very beautiful, it has flowers and blossoms in a pink and red shade, some others in beige. It reminds of an early oriental spring of the cherry blossom season in Japan. There is also a red bird that I decided to place on the ring finger.

I think this kind of waterdecals work best on a light base. I used a sheer white cream colour.

On thumb and pinkie I used a matt red with a bit of shimmer. (I personally mixed this shade ans I am very pleased with how it tuned out)!

Bokeh effect nails

In photography, bokeh is the aesthetic quality of the blur produced in the out-of-focus parts of an image produced by a lens. Bokeh has been defined as "the way the lens renders out-of-focus points of light".

The term comes from the Japanese word boke (暈け or ボケ), which means "blur" or "haze", or boke-aji (ボケ味), the "blur quality". The Japanese term boke is also used in the sense of a mental haze or senility.[8] The term bokashi (暈かし) is related, meaning intentional blurring or gradation.

This an exaple of bokeh effect in a photo

This are the pictures I took inspiration from for this nail art!

To recreate this effect I only used two brand new products from Born Pretty Store.

http://www.bornprettystore.com/born-pretty-color-nail-sequins-flower-heart-star-butterfly-round-flakies-glitter-paillette-p-41223.html

https://www.bornprettystore.com/born-pretty-holographic-silver-nail-flakies-round-nail-sequins-glitter-paillette-p-39819.html

Here is a small video that I have filmed to show you the entire process:

I started placing the holographic round sequins first.

The jar contains 3 sizes of rounded sequins 3 mm, 2 mm and 1 mm. The shade is very particular between a silver and a holographic effect. The reson why I started with these sequins is because they are more light and reflective so they will give brightness to the bokeh effect.

Then I added these second kind of sequins.

This second kind of sequins is made with a translucent foil (I think the one used for laser or broken glass nail art). There are 3 sizes mixed: 3mm in a green shade, 2 mm in a red shade and 1 mm in a blue purple shade.

These last item is the trick to give the nail art a realistic bokeh effect.
I place all the sequins  on wet black nail polish with a dotting tool. I try to concentrate the bigger one on the center and smaller and disperse  toward the cuticles and tips of the nails. You don't have to be too precise, if some of the dots overlap a bit is even better.

There are also others shapes avaible such as flowers, stars, hexagon, hearts, butterflies, squares.

Maybe next time I will try to recreate one of these effects:

Holographic Nail Powder Super Shine

Hello!
This week is full of nail art reviews!
I really love holographic powder! It is such versatile invention, you can mix it in your favorite polish, use it in a top coat, dab it and cover the entire nails, you can do french nails and so on.!
I am always excited to try new powder and textures,

Few days ago I tried this new powder from Born Pretty Store. This was part of a pr sample that the company sent me.

You can find this product at this link:
http://www.bornprettystore.com/born-pretty-holographic-nail-powder-super-shine-sequins-manicure-nail-pigment-glitters-p-40866.html

I selected the colour b26 (an holographic silver shade) but on the site you have 10 colours, next time I will be very eager to try another colour such as red or green, perfect shades for Christmas.

It comes in a nice plastic container and a sponge applicator. The powder is quite flakie-like and the are dust is made up by fine glitters and bigger glitter.

I was curious to know how it looked like on nails so I decided to use it over a white base. As top coat I used a holo glitter top coat for two reasons: it will fill the gaps and it will enhance the holo refraction.
I love the fact that is has a raw finish, similar to  sand, stucco, or rock like finish. This makes the look very unique! Another big pro of this kind of nail style is that glitters are very long lasting! You will have hard time to take them off!

Here is a small video to show the holo effect. I find it very difficult to capture with a camera the holographic effect, but believe me it is stunning in real life.

Born Pretty Store Chamelion nail polish M12 Destiny Fairy

Today I have another wonderful BornPretty nail polish to show you.
I am always looking for some interesting and altering texures to try and this nail polish is really amazing.
The shade it's called Destiny Fairy M12 and I can see why they gave it this name: because it has beautiful sparkling flakies that shift from green to purple and blue, the effect under the sun light is amazing almost magic!

This polish has a twin, a regular (non flakies) metallic duo chrome polish.

You can find both at this link:

   http://www.bornprettystore.com/born-pretty-chameleon-nail-polish-eternal-life-destiny-fairy-sequins-nail-lacquer-varnish-p-39972.html

I thought this polish would look great with another flakie one from the same brand.
This one:
http://www.bornprettystore.com/born-pretty-chameleon-nail-polish-eternal-hope-shining-princess-sequins-nail-lacquer-varnish-p-39973.html

I used Destiny Fairy on the tip of some black stiletto nails. I applied two coats (dab for a better effect). On the other half of the nails (only one coat).

In this way a creted a beautiful rainbow effect, I love it because the mix of these shades capture every shade of the spectrum.

These kin of polishes are a nice thing to try especially if you are a beginner. This is a fun nail art easy to do and that will make your nails pop and draw attention.
I hopo you like it!
