Black and white floral pattern (Born Pretty white stamping polish)

Hello everyone!
Welcome back to my blog.
A question got asked a lot is about the best stamping polishes.
There are some good stamping polishes out there and sometimes you can even use normal polishes for stamping.
There are many black or dark polishes that you can use for this purpose but for white polishes the situation is more complicated.
Most white polishes are too sheer and creamy to be used for stamping, some others are good over light/medium colours but they fail over dark or black polish.
Most stamping polishes stamp well over white, but the real test is if they lose their vibrancy and opacity over black.

The ultimate test is to try a white polish over a dark black.
One polish that has with no doubt passed the test with an A is this white stamping polish from Born Pretty Store. It is called Pure BP-WN04 PURE id code #42857 .

You can use my coupon code at check out to get 10% off RASX31 on www.bornprettystore.com

It works perfectly over black and this means it works over any other colour. The formula is very thick and pigmented which makes it perfect for stamping.  I was so impressed with this polish,
As you can see from the picture the stamping is perfect, it transfers on the stamper and then on the nails with no effort. It is no sheer at all, it is very dense even over black, it is matte.

I will try it very soon over a nude polish, I am sure I will create the white lace nailart I have always dreamt of.

You can use for base too, but I think it works better as a stamping polish.

I think that this rich white was perfect to try to replicate this floral patter I found on some stationery items from Tiger.
The black base is Mi-ny Glam Laquer in the colour Black Rock.

Black and white flowers nailart!

 Hello!
It's time for another nail art related review and today
For this nail art I used some products for the online shop To Save. They kindly sent me some product to review and show you!
In the last post I have reviewed a set of 600 false stiletto nails. I did not resist to try them with these wonderful black flower nail stickers.
In this blog post I'll also do a mini-tutorial for how I apply them.

I was captured by this design at first sight! It is all black and white and the flowers look like a sheer and delicate watercolour painting. I think that this design is very elegant and delicate.

The sheet is 12 cm for 7.5 cm and the designs are in different sizes so that they can fit longer or shorter nails. You can do more than 3 complete nailart with these.
These stickers are very thin but strong at the same time. These kind of nail tools are even better than water decals because thir use is faster. These nail stickers can be applied directly onto the nail without having to dip them in the water like with the water decals.

These stickers are very easy to use. Since I am working on false nails I don't need a base but if you are working on natural nails you would prefer applying them on a well dried base colour.
You can use your nails or a pair of tweesers to remove the design for the sheet and apply it directly on your nails.
You have to be very careful when you apply the sticker because it might leave some air bubble.
To make sure the nail art will last long you have to apply a top coat. In this case I applied a matte top coat. I think the matte gives this nail art a modern touch!
Then I added some rose gold and pink paillettes because I wanted to give the idea of some flower pollen flying in the air.

Here is a small video tutorial:

Hidden nail art with thermal polish

Ever since I was a child I have been very fascinating with colour changing items.
In the middle of the 90s there were a lot of merchandising such as lipstick, mood rings, pens and stationery that was supposed to change colour according to your mood. To be honest that had nothing to do with mood or feeling but there were just pigments that changed colour depending on the temperature of the environment or the body.

Thermal polishes have been around for a while but I find very hard to buy them from local stores because they are part of temporary collections or you can't try them and see the real colour shift.
Online you can find a larger selection, in particular the online store Born Pretty Store has many colours, normal polishes, gel polishes, glitter polishes, they even offer colour changing pigments.

Last time I have tried a beautiful coral pink, now I decided to go for a darker shade a deep grey that turns into a icy light grey or even white.
I think this beautiful grey will lent itself well with a geometrinc stamping nail art!
What I love to do with these kind of polish is what I call an "hidden nail art".

Here is a small video to show the amazing colour changing effect!

I paint all the nails with the thermal polish and then I stamp over it with a very similar colour.
It is hidden because when your hands are cold it looks like a normal plain grey nail polish but when your nails are warm the nail polish turns light grey (white) and it reveals the geometric design.

You can buy it here and there are other 9 shades.

You can use my coupon code at check out to get 10% off RASX31 on www.bornprettystore.com

The bottle contains 9 ml. The formula is a bit thicker than a normal polish, I think because it contains this special thermo sensitive pigment. Two coats are enough to create an even colour and I had no issue with the application at all.

I stamped with this beautiful plate for BPS too:
you can find it here

I added a triangle flakie decoration on the ring finger.

Gold and black geometric nail art

Hi there,
it's a bit late for a New Years Eve nail art but I'm still in the mood for glamour and sparkles.

Some time ago Born Pretty Store came out with a new line of stamping plates and...surprise surprise with one of the most beautiful geometric plates I have ever seen!
They were so kind to send me thise plate and some others brand new items to try.

The plate is rectangular, approx 12x6 cm and it provides 20 geometric designs, some are quite big so they can fit longer and larger nails and some others (in the central part of the plate) are smaller. I think these tiny designs are meant to be overlapped or mixed with the bigger ones to create a double stamping look. The designs are engraved very well and the images easily transfer on any stamper.

Moreover these kind of geometric patterns are perfect with reverse stamping technique, you can fill in the gap with any colour you like.

I really appeciate the simple and elegant look of this plate. It reminds me of some art nouveau design or some sci-fi decorations. I tried a smooth look with the tones of gold, white, black and nude negative space. I added a couple of studs here and there. As you can see from pictures this plate offers endless possibilities and combinations.

The process of this nail art was made even easier by this fantastic tool: manicure saver cotton claw.

This is a unique device that allow you to remove polish from your nails or stamping plates without even touching the acetone soaked cotton ball.
At first sight it looks like a pen,a plastic bronze stick. You can push in the button on one end and the claw part will open to hold the cotton ball or pad in place. At this point you can soak the cotton with acetone and start cleaning with no mess for your finger nails.

I think this tool is a life saver, I really love it!
