Holographic Colour Changing polish

 

A thermal nail polish is a varnish that is going to change its colour depending on the temperature of the environment.

The colour that I have chosen is number a glittery dusty burgundy in cold environment and a very glittery light  white in hot temperature.

The consistency is a bit thicker than the normal polishes I am used to and the finish is very interesting too because is glossy and shine (I also used a top coat for it).

The glitters has also holographic particles that can change colour and shift. This makes this product very interesting. 

I was very curious to try some colour changing polish because you can have two different styles in a moment, your nail polish will change throught out the day a lot of times and most of the time it will create an ombrèe effect between the two colours. It is a fast complete nail look on its own.

I really love the transition between the two colours it creates a beautiful effect and the thermal polish who can shift from dark to light are very rare.

The fact that it is a gel nail polish makes the colour changing more durable and the nail art last longer

 It comes in a beautiful paper sleeve and  measures (125x65 mm). It also has a plastic backing for easy, comfortable handling and a protective nylon screen.(It has to be removed before use).

I think this plate is very well edged. Each design transfers easily and was extremely sharp as you can see from the pictures.

This nail stamping plate features different space and stars related designs mixed with various human figures, lovers hugging or kissing and abstract pattern too. That allows the user to create multi-layered and multi-colored nail art designs with ease.

I think it is a clever idea to add smaller elements on the plate so you can use it on smaller nails or on your toenails.

I did not use the blending formula for this nailart (but you can still find it on the site). The blending formula helps to spread the colour and it perfect when you want to give a smoke effect.

It is dries quite fast so you should work quickly. It is very easy to paint the clouds because you don't have to be too precise. I try to work with less product each time so I can make layers, I think this helps to give the idea of a real cloud. You can experiment with different shapes and colours.

I used this porduct over some gel nail polish, over a glossy top coat and sealed it with another layer of top coat.

I think this white looks better over darker colours, this is why I used this glittery purple.

                                           

Eggshell nails!!!!

                                  

Eggshell nailart has been a huge trend of this late year! 

The pastel shades with the added speckled eggshell effect is the ideal Easter manicure trend, with a loving ode to mini eggs.

At first this techinique was meant to be done by hand, drawing each tiny dots or with a  wet brush techinque. 

Born Pretty Store came out with a wonderful idea, a clear gel polish with small black particles that perfectly creates this effect. I only did one layer but you can add some more product for a more dramatic look. It is a gel polish so you have to cure in the lamp and add a top coat.

I think it is best to use a pastel or light colour with these kinds of gels. I am also curious to see how it will look with a matte top coat.

I love the fact that my nails look like tiny chocolate eggs.

I was really surprised by designs and the unsual colour palette. The decals show some flowers patters and leaves, there are roses and red and pink flowers and some cute birds too.

The patterns are really elegant and perfectly painted.

The design print is perfect, printed in hight resolution, lines are very sharp and colour are vivid. I am a huge fan of water decals in general! They are super easy to use and you can spice up your nails instantly with intricate looking designs. They are also a great alternative to stamping when you want a professional look in a few minutes.

There are many other patterns you can pick and use.

The application is very easy.

The waterdecals are protected by a transparent sheet. You can select the size and the design you want, cut it with a scissor. Don't forget to remove the plastic sheet. Cut out the section of decals, and let it soak in room temperature water for about 15-30 seconds, slide the decals off the paper backing with tweezers and place on the nails with the white or nude base coat

The instructions suggest to place it on  the nail and dry with a tissue. The last step is to secure it with clear nail polish. In my case with a matte top coat.

I have decided to try it over a french manicure so that the effect would be more visible.

It very easy to use.

After the french manicure with gel polishes I used a no wipe transparent top coat and cured it under a uv lamp.

Then I used a make up sponge to apply the powder, it created an iridescent glossy effect. Brush off excess powder.

The last step is to secure the nailart with another layes of no wipe top coat.

I was right to try this colour too, the yellow over pink looks amazing!

Thermal Sensitive gel from Born Pretty Store! Tips ad Tricks

I have already showed you this amazing Thermal Sensitive gel from Born Pretty Store in a previous post. Today I would like to show you another nailart and share some tips and tricks with you for a perfect application.
A Thermal Senstive gel is a very very sensitive colour changing paint that can change up to 12 different colours depending on the temperature. It truly looks like magic in a pot.

The product comes in a pot that contains 2 gr of products.


After you open it for the first time it can appear a bit cakey or lumpy, it can be due to temperature, so the best way to restore it is to try to stir it, put it in a sealed plastic bag and immerge it in warm water or add a bit of warm water and stir it again.

I have just tried to stir it a little bit and it helped a lot.

The paint is in a light beige colour. It has to be used only with gel polishes and with a black base underneath.
You have to apply a good amount of products otherwise the effect will not be very visible.
I have tried to work with thin layers but I have found out that the best way to apply it is with a dotting too, so that you can form a very even and quite thick layer of product.

Another suggestion is to be patient and wait for the Thermal Sensitive to be completely dry, this means that the light beige paint will turn almost completely transparent (or starting to show the changing effect). This is can take up to five- ten minutes if you made a thick layer.

You have to secure the design with a top coat so you will encapsulate the liquid and make it durable, with no lifting.

"Spider gel,"is  an innovative nail art formula very famous on Instagram (that requires almost no tools). The product came in a pot with the brand name and the colour, It looks like a really thick gel, and then when you put a little toothpick or something in it, you can draw out a string of the stuff, and drape the gel on the nail.

This thick gel allows you to create perfectly straight lines for your nail art without stencils or specialized brushes. If last time I went for a Pollock dripping effect this time I have tried a geometric look!

I used two toothpics at the same time to draw perfect straight lines, it was incredibly fast and easier than I thought it would be.

It is a gel so you need a UV lamp to use it.
You have to use it over a cured base and a no wipe top coat, don't make the mistake I made to use it over a wet base (the lines will broke and flow, which an interesting effect but not the desired one).
I have decided to apply a no wipe soak off top coat over it.

It is a very very sensitive colour changing paint that can change up to 12 different colours depending on the temperature. It truly looks like magic in a pot.
The most common thermal polishes can shift between two or three shades and need a strong temperature change (you have to warm your hand a lot putting them in cold water and hot water to actually see the shift).

The product comes in a jar and looks like a light brown paint, it has a good smell.

You have to use this product over a dark gel base.
How to use:
Apply a layer of gel base and cure
Apply a layer of black gel polish and cure
Apply a layer of Thermal Sensitive liquid and let it hir dry for 2-5 minutes
You have to make a thick layer of product, this is very important because a thin layer won't show the colour shift.
(You will know it dried because it will lose its ligh brown milky colour and turns transparents or starts showing the colour shift)
Apply a layer of top coat to secure the paint.
At this point you can add a decoration or a stamping design that you like (you can also do it before the top coat for a long lasting result).
