Shattered glass nail trend!

The shattered glass nail art is a big trend started in Korea by the famous nail artist Unistella.
This nail art is quite easy: segments of an iridescent cellphane or foil are placed directly on a wet nail polish and sealed with a top coat.
I have been looking for this special foil everywhere in Italy, but it was impossible to find in local stores.

The one that I used in this nail art is from Born Pretty Store  , they were so kind to send me this item.
This particular cellophane reflects light like facets on a gemstone or a broken glass.
In the site you can choose between 5 colours, I have shade number 2.
Here is the link of the product:

It's really hard to describe this beautiful shade, it is an iridescent and pearlescent pink and the colour changes a lot with different backgrounds.

In this first example I used it on a black nail polish. As you can see the sheer foil shift from light to dark green, blue and golden yellow, the colour change is based on the light (natural or artificial) and the way you decide to layer the stickers.

Here is a short video that show you how bright and iridescent this foil is.

I made this other version on a sheer pink nail polish, in this case the result is very delicate and the shades shift from golden yellow to pink and light green.

I've decided to add some golden decoration triangles. These decorations are ultrathin and very easy to apply on wet clear nail polish. They are quite flexible so they easly bent on the curve of the nail. For a long lasting manicure you can seal the design with a clear top coat.
There are some other shapes available in the Born Pretty Store.

I hope you'll like my nail art idea!
Talk to you soon

Elegant striping brush review!

Hello everyone,
I have just received some wonderful products from Born Pretty Store. They kindly sent me some items to review for you.
The product that I would like to describe today is this striping brush.
First of all I noticed the elegant packaging in a fancy golden colour with black and silver details.

You can use my coupon code at check out to get 10% off RASX31 on www.bornprettystore.com

The handle works as a cap because you can take it off, and when the cap is on not only it protect the brush but also it became smaller and easier to store.

The brush hair is very thin and flexible, it is perfect to draw lines, small details of patterns and flowers and even outlines.
The bristles are quite long and the tip is very small, These kind of brushes are easy to use for zebra patterns or to make french manicures on short nails.
For other kind of designs you need a bit of practice to achieve a better hand control.
Here are some examples of what you can do with this product.

Flowers design

  Abstract stripes

        Tropical flowers

    Simple linear decoration

   Negative space and cut-out

That's all for now!

Pink stiletto nails with crystals!

Hi guys!
Last moth I ordered some crystals from Born Pretty Store.
I saw crystal nails everywhere lately so I wanted to try some too.

I bought this weel of  colourful rhinestones (click on the name to open the link).

You can use my coupon code at check out to get 10% off RASX31 on www.bornprettystore.com

I really like them because they are not clear they have some iridescent reflects. Rhinestones show every colour of the spectrum pink and purple, green, blue, yellow. They shine  even more under sun light and they show different colours depending on the angle of the light.

In the wheel you can find four different sizes (approx 5mm, 4mm, 3mm, 2mm).
They are very esay to apply, you can use clear nail polish as glue and a dotting tool to place them on the nails. Seal with top coat.
I created a nail art using all four different sizes.

These rhinestones are very versatile, you can use them with your make up, for example you can place the medium sized one in the inner corner of your eye with some lashes' glue. You can use them to decorate your cellphone or glasses.
Thanks for reading!

Arabesque nail art

Hello!
You know lately I’ve received some Born Pretty Store products, so this week I decided to play a little bit more with born pretty store plate 48. When I received his plates I was immediately fascinated by the arabesque design.

You can use my coupon code at check out to get 10% off RASX31 on www.bornprettystore.com

These kind of designs are my favourite because you can have a sightly different design on each finger. These designs have decorations based on rhythmic linear patterns of scrolling and interlacing flowers, foliage, tendrils or plain lines.  As you can see the design is very large  so you can decide which part of the design you want on your nails. Since the plate is well engraved and beautifully crafted,. I had no problem in picking up the image with a stamper.

I thought this was the right pattern for reverse stamping technique; with this method you can easly create coloured decals to apply on your nails. So I decided to create this nail art and play a bit more with colours: I used blue, purple, dark  yellow and glitter gold to give a 3d effect over a white base.  I’ve cut the decals in different shapes and I applied them on nails with a clear nail polish.
This is the result

I hope you’ll like it

Purple and silver nail art with Born Pretty Store Stamping plate

Hello!
Today I would like to show you this nail art.
For the base I I used a white nail polish. I wantend to create a tye dye effect so I used some acrylic paint in pink, purple and light blue and I used water to gently blend and control colours.
This is the result with top coat:

For stamping I used this Born Pretty Store  plate (click to open the link if you want to buy it)

BORN PRETTY STORE PLATE BP-50 (click on the name to open the link)

You can use my coupon code at check out to get 10% off RASX31

Designs are quite large so that they can fit on long or wide nails. The round plate is divided in 4 sections: the first one show a marble effect pattern, I think it would look great with a combination of bright colours, the second one is full of hearts and it's perfect for Valentine's Day, the third one is made up of clovers, very useful in spring or for Saint Patrick's Day. The last one shows abstracts shapes. I felt in love with the last one, very edgy and versatile, so I decided to use it for my nail art.

For stamping I used Barry M Instant foil effect nail polish in silver, I wanted a sheer effect on index and ring finger. Then I added a silver stud art the base of two nails.

Laura's Pills: pills of happiness

My love for nail polishes started when I was a little girl. I was always stealing my mother's nails laquers, as well as drawing, painting and creating unsual games.
I started experimenting with nail art few years ago during a short convalescence after an accident , nails became my little happiness pills (tha's why the name of this blog is "Laura's Pills").
Soon I realised that my ten nails weren't enough for my amount of creativity so I set up a  shop on etsy. I sell hand painted false nails LaurasPills.
In blog I would like to increase my passion for nail art, create a community, showing my creations, providing tutorials, products reviews, nail polishes swatches and much more!
I hope you'll love it! I hope that with my nails I can share with you a moment of joy and art
