Vanitas on nails!

This stamping plate with skulls, skeletons and flowers reminds me of the Vanitas: a genre of still life painting that flourished in the Netherlands in the early 17th century. It included various symbolic objects designed to remind the viewer of their mortality and the worthlessness of wordly goods and pleasures.

A vanitas painting, while possibly containing lovely objects, always included some reference to man's mortality. Most often, this is a human skull (with or without other bones), but items like burning candles, soap bubbles and decaying flowers may be used for this purpose as well.

You can find these at @bornprettystore @bornprettyofficial www.bornprettystore.com

Watercolour pen! From Born Pretty Store

Hello my friends!
The situation we are living world wide is very hard so why don't cheer up us a little bit more with some nailart.

For the decoration of this nailart I used a brand new product from Born Pretty Store. I used a watercolor pen, it is very easy to use and the effect is amazing.

It looks like a normal felt tip pen but it is much better, it gives a watercolor/smoke effect. There are so many colours to choose from, the shade that I have picked is between a black and a grey, the colour's name is Newborn. The Id prodict is # 46717

You can get a 10% discount at @bornprettystore @bornprettyofficial using my code RASX31

You actually have to assemblate the pen, and this is perfect because you won't have leak during the shipping and you will be able to store it not let it dry.
It is very easy:
Open the box and remove empty pen and cartridge.
Remove the cap and rotate to dissemble the pen.
Plug the cartridge into the pen carefully (or plug the cartridge into the pen until the steel ball fall down in the cartridge and the ink will be transfer to the tip of the pen).
Reassemble the pen, and push the head of the pen.

The water color will be transfer to the tip of the pen and you can use it on the nail. I draw some lines across the nail changing pressure of the pen.

Then I added some flakies top coat, from Born Pretty Store as well

The plate measures  12cm x 6cm,is very well engraved and has different designs, I had no problems in picking up the images with different stampers.

In this nailart I used a light base, then I added some brush strokes with other two Born Pretty polishes.
One is a Tiffany Blue I used BP-WT04 called "The noon sunshine".

The other one is one of my all time favorites  Tender (#BP-SP04 ) #43161 .

I stamped with a black stamping polish. I really like the it, simple and fast but with a great effect!

Four season nailart! Nicole diary tattoo plate 002

Hello,
the Autumn nail art inspired me for a four season nailart.  I love the changing of seasons, it's so beautiful seeing nature change, I thought it would be nice to have a nail art with a design for each season.

The idea came from this stamping plate from Nicole Diary

Don't forget to use my coupon code for 10% off LAPI10 on www.nicolediary.com
There is a wide range of water decals and designs, I am sure you will find the right one for you.

The plate comes in a cardboard packaging, it is very nice and minimal. The plates are glued into a beautiful white plastic cover. The whole presentation looks beautiful!

This plate is part of the tattoo collection. In the previous post I have already explained how I find the collection incredible for identity and aesthetic.

I think this plate is a tribute to the the powerful feminine beauty of mother nature, each design is so dreamy and powerful that will look amazing even in a simple black white, even better in full colours.
The quality is very high, all lines are well engraved and so far I haven’t come across a single design which hasn’t transferred perfectly on to the stamper and then on to my nail.

It has various design with a female figure or face mixed with some nature elements. It thought this was the perfect plate to show or give the ideas of different types of weather and changes that occur in their environments at different times of the year.

I took inspiration from Sara Coleridge's poem:

January brings the snow,
makes our feet and fingers glow.

February brings the rain,
Thaws the frozen lake again.

(For Winter I choose this image of girl immersed in water with her head in a cloud, as base I used a light blue mixed with white with a fan brush)

March brings breezes loud and shrill,
stirs the dancing daffodil.

April brings the primrose sweet,
Scatters daises at our feet.

For Spring I picked the image of the face of a girl with a flowers crown. The base is mix of bright pink and peach).

May brings flocks of pretty lambs,
Skipping by their fleecy damns.

June brings tulips, lilies, roses,
Fills the children's hand with posies.

Hot july brings cooling showers,
Apricots and gillyflowers.

For summer I stamped an image with a girl in a black bathing suit surrounded by palms and tropical flowers. As base I used a mix of green and blue.

August brings the sheaves of corn,
Then the harvest home is borne.

Warm september brings the fruit,
Sportsmen then begin to shoot.

Fresh October brings the pheasents,
Then to gather nuts is pleasent.

For Autums I picked the picture with the face of a girl and some bare branches; for the base colour I painted a gradient burn orange.

Dull November brings the blast,
Then the leaves are whirling fast.

Chill December brings the sleet,
Blazing fire, and Christmas treat.

Now there is one finger left, the pinky, and all seasons have been used! I mixed all the colours used in the previous fingers, the image represent two hands holding, I think it is a good image to represent the mid-season time! LOL

Burgundy lace nails! Beauty Big Bang nails

Hello!
Welcome back for another post on my blog.
This blog post is about this gorgeous lace nail art plate from Beauty Big Bang the product ID is XL-015 (id product BBBXL-015).
It is a beatiful plate that features all very detailed lace images.

What I like the most about this plate is that it has 14 different images with different designs, some are flower pattern  and others are geometric or abstract but they are all very elegant.

The plate measures 6*12cm and the images are quite large so they will fit even longer nails.
It cames in protective paper sleeve with the brand name on it and like any other plate it has a blue film that has to be removed before use.

The plate is very well engraved and it picks up every image perfectly, make sure you use a pigmented polish for stamping.

For my nail art I decided to use the nails I used as swatches in the previous post, I used different colours and as top coat I used the Misty Rose Shiny Mermaid Shell Nail Polish.
In this case different colours can give a bit variations on a plain stamping.

I really like the design on the middle finger it has a nice retro vibe, like a a 60ies wallpaper. I decided to stamp with a a metallic dark burgundy from Kiko.
I really like the result and I think this plate is a must have if you love lace design, it can be wonderful for a wedding nail art in white or for a sexy Valentine nail art in black or red. You can create a huge variety of gorgeous nail art designs.

Set of clear false nails!

Hello!
A few posts ago I shared with you my dirty little secret about nails:
I sometimes use false nails.
I used to have perfect and strong nails but for medical reasons my natural nails became brittle, thin, and awful. I don't want to stop doing nail art so I am always happy to try new set of false nails to find the perfect shape for me.

If you are a 90s kid like me you probably remember the first branded press on nails on the market, they were tragic and not so easy to wear, not natural looking at all.
False nails have come such a long way and they became the perfect compromise between beautiful and comfortable.

I have received this set of 600 nails to review from the online shop www.beautybigbang.com
They came in a bag that contains 600 nails in 10 different sizes from 0 to 9. Nails are divided by sizes and you will have extra nails in size 4 and 5 because I think they are the most common sizes. The size range is perfect and you will have 10 sizes to choose from so you can find the artificial nail that is the closest to the size of your natural nail.

You can even choose a colour:
 - transparent if you like to paint them with sheer nail polish or want to try a french manicure or french nailart.
- natural a sheer, milky white beige, the perfect base for light or nude colours
- white if you need a base for nail art or want a fast and easy nails-to-go

I went for the transparent ones this time because I thought they were more versatile.
The shape is a nice oval not too short and not too long, it can be easly shaped with scrissors or a file, the nails are quite flexible at the base and a bit more strong at the point.
I personally like false nails that are flexible enought to adjust to the curve of the natural nail.

How to apply:
you can decide to paint the nails after or before wearing them. It's up to you!
When you're ready to glue the nail in place, cover the back of the artificial nail with the  glue and cover the top of your natural nail with glue. Be sure you cover each surface completely with glue or you will be able to see air pockets through the false nails after you've applied them. Hold the artificial nail on top of your nail for 5 seconds and it's glued.

This is how they look with nail polish and nailart

Comic's love! Born Pretty Store stamping plate review BP-L005

Hello!
How is your week end going so far? Mine is pretty lazy.

I have another stamping plate to show you, this one is from Born Pretty Store.
With the popularity of superhero movies and Comic-Con, comic-themed nail art is a playful new trend. I really like comics inspired nails, they're modern, a bit nerd, colourful and remind me of Pop Art.

I own already some comic inspired stamping plates, you can see post here and here.

I like making my nails look like the pages of famous comic books. It is a nice way to create my own, unique story.
Born Pretty is enlarging  the stamping collection each week with some new and amazing products.
This plate in particular BP-L005 Valentine's Day and love in general, but it can also be used to celebrate a friendship or bachelorette parties.

The plate comes in an elegant paper sleeve.  The stainless steel plate measures 6.5 x 12.5cm and have a vinyl backing for increased ease of use. The designs are engraved on to the image plate and covered with a protective film which needs to be removed before use.

It has 12 designs that can fit larger and longer nails, each measures 2,5 x 1,8 cm.
The first 6 designs are abstract pattern with hearts, lines, stripes, lips, written like love, kiss and hugs.
The second 6 designs are images of couples, kissing, hugging and share precious moments.

The company was kind enough to offer a 10% discount to my readers. Just use promo code RASX31  during checkout. Shipping is free on all orders as well!

For this nail art I started with a white base then I added a watercolour painting with yellow, green and pink/red. I stamped with a regular nail polish. I did not use a stamping polish because I think that a regular one will give the effect of a real print, with some parts ligher or missing.
